Terms and Conditions

  1. The currency of the bid is Kenya Shillings. Kenya Shillings is subsequently abbreviated to KES throughout this document.
  2. The asking price for the van is KES. 430,000, ONO.
  3. The van will be offered to the highest bidder.
  4. If there are a number of identical top bids then the individuals behind those bids will be invited to a second and restricted round of bidding to determine a top bidder.
  5. The van is sold "as is" and under no circumstances are any warranties expressed or implied.
  6. To arrange viewing, kindly contact the administrative department. You may do this by contacting us between 10am and 3pm +254733334217 by phone or through email addressed to: anne@refugepoint.org and copied to: mwanga@refugepoint.org.
  7. Once selected as the top bidder, you will be required to make a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the bid price within 10 days with the balance payable within 30 days of the close of bidding. RefugePoint reserves the right to resell the vehicle if the bid price is not paid in full after 30 days.
  8. The successful bidder shall be notified by a Letter of Award within 5 business days.
  9. Collection of the Vehicle will only happen after the full payment has been received. The Vehicle must be removed from the premises of the RefugePoint
    within 3 business days after payment
  10. Bank deposits or direct transfers are the only accepted payment methods, and will be considered made after it has been established that a deposit or transfer has reflected in RefugePoint’s bank account. Thereafter the buyer will be furnished with an official receipt.
  11. The buyer will be responsible for the transfer costs (approx. KES. 3,300)
  12. It is the bidder’s responsibility to inspect the equipment to ensure its suitability and fitness before bidding.
  13. Interested bidders may see the Vehicle daily from 10am – 3pm until the deadline of the bid submission date. An interested bidder will be allowed a maximum of three views.
  14. Collection and removal of the Vehicle is at the expense of the buyer, and the buyer is responsible for all arrangements of moving the car from RefugePoint premises. RefugePoint will not provide any assistance, either technical or manpower, for the removal of the Vehicle and shall not be held responsible for any damages caused during the removal.
  15. Vehicle Insurance policies are not transferable.
  16. The bidding process shall not be postponed or delayed to enable any individual to partake in the auction.
  17. You cannot bid on behalf of another individual, any bids will be deemed to be first-hand/unmediated offer from the bidder.
  18. All bids are confidential.
  19. Bids may be withdrawn or resubmitted at any time prior to the deadline time. No bid may be withdrawn once the deadline for submitting bids has lapsed.
  20. Bids that do not fulfil the above requirements will be disqualified. RefugePoint reserves the right to reject any or all Bids.
