Founded in 2005, RefugePoint partners with refugees to access life-changing solutions and transform how the world supports them. For those who can safely remain in the country to which they have fled, we help them reach stability and work towards self-reliance so they can meet their own needs. Unfortunately, many refugees can’t go home and can’t safely stay in the country to which they have fled. We help these people relocate to a safe, new country, through resettlement or other pathways, so that they can begin to rebuild their lives. Position Summary

The Driver will perform work in the operation of a vehicle to ensure the safe transportation of staff, volunteers, clients, guests, and any other official passengers to official destinations.

The core responsibilities of this position are as follows:

Logistics support

• Plan ahead to meet anticipated transport requirements. Ensure the assigned car is fueled in good time;
• ​​​Responsibly and safely drive staff, guests, and other official visitors to scheduled destinations;

Vehicle Maintenance

• Responsible for the day-to-day care, maintenance, and repair of office cars;
• Cleans and routinely inspect the office cars; to check oil, water, brakes, brake liquid, tyre pressure, battery levels, and the entire vehicle;
• Routinely check all vehicle licenses and insurances;
• Drive safely and responsibly at all times.

• Accurately complete the vehicle mileage and fuel log forms;
• Run errands for the office, for example, delivery and collection of letters, bills, et al;
• Assist with purchasing, delivering, and distributing food and non–food items;
• In view of the Road rules and regulations and Insurance requirements, ensure immediate action is taken in the event of an accident;
• Promptly report the involvement of an assigned office car in an accident, including minor accidents, damage, loss, or theft of vehicle fittings;
• Liaise with the supervisor to ensure the first aid kit is suitably resourced;
• Use reliable sources to stay informed about road conditions and share any information collected with the office;
• Update the maintenance log form accurately;
• Accurately update the Express Way log sheet.

Qualifications Required

• Valid driving license, BCE minimum;
• Successful completion of Secondary School education;
• A minimum of two years of driving experience;
• Ability to speak English and Kiswahili;
• Team player;
• Conversant with the routes of Nairobi.

Desired Qualifications

• Training in basic mechanics, advanced driving, first aid, etc, will be an added advantage;
• Certification in driving by a professional body will be an added advantage;
• Basic computer knowledge especially MS office will be added advantage.

Special Requirements

• A certificate of Good Conduct is mandatory prior to being offered a contract with RefugePoint International.
